Breast Lift Perth

What is Breast Lift?

A breast lift delivers the opportunity to raise and firm your breasts and attain a youthful shape that may have been lost as a result of weight loss, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or loss of tissue elasticity. It aims to remove excess skin to tighten the surrounding tissue and support the new breast contour. Also known by the medical term mastopexy, this procedure is a promising solution for saggy or droopy breasts as it reshapes and lifts the breast. This procedure aims to reshape and raise the nipple and areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple), with the opportunity to reduce the size of the areola. At Glamour Cosmetic Surgery in Perth, patients may have the option to combine a breast augmentation with a breast lift to achieve added volume and firmness of the breasts. Whatever your needs may be, Glamour will guide you through the steps of a breast lift to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Breast Lift Procedure & Recovery

Breast Lift Perth

All breast lift procedures at Glamour Cosmetic Surgery are performed under general anaesthesia in fully-accredited private hospitals in Perth.

In general, you have a few options for your surgery depending on the size and shape of your existing breasts, as well as your aesthetic goals.

Patients with small breasts and minimal sagging may be recommended for smaller incision mastopexy. One such modified procedure is concentric mastopexy, also called the ‘doughnut’ mastopexy, in which two concentric circular incisions are made around the areola and a doughnut-shaped section of skin is removed.

Larger breasts with moderate sagging may also require the removal of excess tissue along the horizontal plane, giving rise to a vertical scar. Overall, this option gives rise to a ‘lollipop’ scar.

Even larger breasts with severe drooping may require an anchor-shaped incision made from the location of the new nipple down to and around the crease beneath the breast. Dr. Lee will remove any excess skin, relocate the nipple and areola, and reshape the breast using skin from around the areola, before closing the incisions with stitches.

For all breast lifts, Dr. Lee planned and marked all the incisions before the surgery. These incisions are to be checked and adjusted during the surgery. He then masterfully ‘tailor tags’ all these planned incisions, simulating the lift before making any incision, ensuring the lift will turn out exactly as planned with the greatest symmetry.

After surgery, the breasts are wrapped with gauze dressings, over which a surgical bra is placed. This is to be worn for approximately one month.

Following your surgery, your breasts will experience bruising and swelling. They will be uncomfortable for a few days after the surgery, but this will pass with time. You may be required to sleep at a 45-degree angle for a couple of weeks to aid with wound healing. The numbness experienced in the breasts and nipples will often subside as the swelling improves. It is advised that patients at Glamour Cosmetic Surgery avoid straining, bending and lifting for approximately two weeks after their surgery. In general, our patients can return to work a week or two after the surgery.
